Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the specialty of dentistry which includes the diagnosis, surgical and adjunctive treatment of diseases, injuries and defects involving both the functional and esthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and facial region.

Dr. Clark specialized in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after successful completion of dental school. The specialty requires an additional four years of residency, or practical and didactic training, during which the surgeon receives training in other medical disciplines such as general surgery, plastic surgery, medicine, anesthesia, and pathology.

Dr. Clark is also Board Certified in both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Anesthesiology. In order to do so, he was required to demonstrate evidence of his education and training, and to pass written and oral examinations regarding these specialties. Board certification also requires continuing education in order to maintain these credentials.
